Amber apothecary bottles, salt-glazed stoneware crock, and dried botanicals on a worn farmhouse surface — Harvest Rust collection, Jolene Le Mille Archive

Harvest Rust

Iron oxide rust, amber pharmaceutical glass, and salt-glazed Ohio stoneware from the Midwest's open air. Terracotta and earthenware. Dried botanicals, harvest baskets, and the farmstead objects of late summer giving way to autumn. The patina of a season that takes its time. Heavily weighted toward the harvest months — but the rust never really goes out of season.

About This Collection

This is the October collection — the one that leans into the particular beauty of things that have aged outdoors. Rusted iron. Amber glass in thick, imperfect walls. Salt-glazed stoneware in ochre and earth. The colours and textures of a Midwestern autumn, brought inside.

Lyndze builds this collection during the autumn estate sale season, when field barns open up and the light at 4 PM turns everything rust-orange. The standard is genuine oxidation only — faux-rusted pieces don’t come home.

Genuine iron oxide rust — layered, flaky, brick-red, not flat chemical patina. Thick amber apothecary glass from Ohio’s 19th-century pharmaceutical tradition. Salt-glazed Michigan and Ohio stoneware crocks. Dried botanicals and the earthy objects of farmstead autumn.

Real rust has layers and darker underlayers where oxidation has gone deeper into the metal. Faux rust is flat and too orange. Lyndze tests every iron piece before it’s catalogued.
