Two round woven rattan discs — flat, spiral-woven from the center outward in a basket-weave pattern, the reed a warm natural straw. The center knot is tight and clean, the weave consistent to the edge. No dye, no finish. The material is itself.
They function in several ways at once: hung on a wall in a loose grouping for texture, layered under a tray or candle cluster on a table, used as trivets, or stacked as charger underlays beneath ceramic plates. The natural reed holds the warmth of whatever light is near it — morning sun, candlelight — and the spiral pattern reads differently depending on how close you are to it.
Sold as a set of two. Found at the Rochester Salvation Army, August 2025.
Hunter’s Notes
Same August run as most of this haul. Rochester Salvation Army, hot afternoon, AC treasure hunting. Found these together — two rattan rounds, spiral-woven, clean. The texture was what got me. Natural reed holds light differently than anything manufactured. Sold as a set.
