A small stoneware crock in a deep, glossy brown glaze over buff clay, with a rolled rim and straight sides. It's a classic American farmhouse shape, made for butter, preserves or pantry storage. Today it makes a great utensil holder by the stove, a pen cup or a planter cover.
Condition: The unglazed base shows concentric rings and a faint partial ink stamp, with light wear and age marks.
