Vintage Avon Creative Needlecraft Crewel Embroidery Kits, Noah's Ark & Piglets and Posies, Started, Set of 2 with Hoops & Yarn

Sold as a set: two 1970s Avon Creative Needlecraft crewel kits, both started, in the original Avon zip carry bag with its white handle.

Noah's Ark: a big, happy nursery picture on oatmeal fabric. A hot pink elephant and an orange elephant head up the ramp, with giraffes, owls and a little chick crowding the ark's scalloped roof, and crocodiles in the grass below. The elephants, the ark, the giraffes, the owls and the crocodiles are stitched in turkeywork, laidwork and chain stitch. The sun, clouds, lions, pigs and flowers are still waiting, printed on the fabric.

Piglets and Posies: a pink pig and an orange pig nose to nose under a heart, with a butterfly, flowers and grass. The stitching is essentially finished and ready to press and frame. Finished size is 12" × 14".

Includes: both printed fabrics, two embroidery hoops, an assortment of crewel yarn in the kit colors, the Noah's Ark color and stitch diagram with a full stitch guide (chain, stem, French knots, turkeywork, bullion knots, couching and more), the Piglets and Posies cover sheet, and Avon's pink "Helpful Hints" booklet.

Dimensions: 13" × 9" × 2.75" (bag)

Condition: Used and started. The fabrics are creased from storage. The Noah's Ark diagram has a tear along the center fold and a small blue mark. The bag is intact. We can't promise all the original yarn is there, but there's plenty to keep going.

Finish the ark for a nursery wall, or frame the piglets as they are.
