Aunt Martha's hot iron transfer #3268, "Three Pillowslip Motifs." Three pillowcase designs: a colonial girl in a bonnet and full hoop skirt under a parasol, framed by a long trail of daisies; a basket of flowers with a lattice weave and chain border; and a spray of roses with a bluebird. A small flower border strip is included too. The printed notes give colors for each design (the colonial girl's dress in coral or cerise, the roses pink or yellow, the bird blue or brown) and suggest using the small designs on aprons, scarves and children's clothes. The envelope still carries its original 19¢ price.
Includes: original envelope and the transfer sheet pieces with printed instructions.
Dimensions: 7" × 5.25" × 1/8" (envelope)
Condition: Used and cut, mostly complete. The colonial girl, the flower basket, the roses and the border strip are here. Some sections have been cut out and are missing, including part of the area around the bluebird. The colonial girl piece shows darker gray lines and appears to have been traced over by a previous owner. Folding creases throughout. Red ink is still strong. Envelope is clean, with light wear.
The colonial girl is a classic for a grandmillennial guest room. Stitch her on a pillowcase and run the daisy trail along the hem.
