An Oneida silver-plated oval dish with a scalloped lobed border. Made in America. Small enough for a beside table, a vanity, or an entry console — somewhere to set a ring, a key, a handful of things that need a place.
From the Beverly Hills estate, Oakland County, Michigan.
Hunter's Notes
Every hunt has a shape to it. I walk into an estate with a loose theme in mind — objects I know from experience have a strong and consistent following. Small silver pieces in good condition are almost always on that list.
The scalloping is what made me reach for this one specifically. The lobed border is more considered than most — it gives the piece a presence that a plain oval dish doesn't have. Oneida, Made in America, in good silver with no damage.
It reads well on an entry table as a key dish or catch-all. It would sit equally well on a stack of books, or beside something personal that deserves a proper place to land. A small thing that does quiet work in a room.
Beverly Hills estate, Oakland County. January 2026.
